Designed for middle and high school students, this even offers hands-on research experience, mentorship from university students, and a chance to explore your academic interests. Whether you're passionate about science, technology, history, or social issues, this is your opportunity to dive into the world of discovery early!"

What?
A free, two-day event where students will team up with experienced mentors to conduct research and present their findings. No experience is necessary, just curiosity!

Who is this for?
For Students:
Get a head start on your future by gaining real-world research experience. Work alongside experts, collaborate with peers, and build the skills that will set you apart in college and beyond!
For Undergraduate and Graduate Students:
Become a mentor and help shape the next generation of researchers! Gain leadership experience, enhance your resume, and make a real impact by guiding middle and high school students through their research journey
Event Schedule

October 2024:

Promotion & Website Launch: Begin promoting the event through schools, social media, and local Korean communities.

Mentor Recruitment: Invite undergraduate, graduate, and professional mentors to sign up.

Mentor Orientation: At the end of October, mentors will attend an orientation session to understand the event's goals, structure, and mentoring best practices.​

First Week of November 2024:

Mentor-Mentee Matching: Depending on the number of participants, students will either be matched with individual mentors (1:1) or form small groups (mentor with 2-3 students).

Brainstorming Phase Begins: Mentors and mentees will collaborate to identify potential research topics, set goals, and begin initial research planning.

November 16th, 2024: (Day 1 of Researchthon) ( 2PM - 6PM )

4 Hours of Research and Writing: Students and mentors will collaborate on their projects, focusing on conducting research, organizing ideas, and drafting their written work.

November 17th, 2024: (Day 2 of Researchthon) ( 2PM - 6PM )

2 Hours of Finalizing Research: Groups will complete their research and refine their projects.

1 Hour of Presentations: Students will present their research findings to the other participants, mentors, and an audience.

1 Hour for Nominations: Judges will nominate top projects based on creativity, scientific inquiry, and teamwork.
